Green Day

Like a big green shillelagh
CN Tower

Some people think the way the CN Tower is lit up these days is decidedly tacky. Some just think it’s fun. Whatever the school of thought, if ever there’s a special occasion the tower usually steps up to the plate and displays a colour scheme appropriate to the event of the day.

Yesterday being St. Patrick’s Day, the CN Tower was lit up in green. We noticed it as we rounded the corner to our house and saw it through the trees and the ridiculously bright street lights on our block.

I’m one of those people who think it’s kind of fun to get into the spirit of things like this, when it comes to the CN Tower. It’s a huge honking landmark that’s able to make quite a statement on these types of holidays, so why not make use of it after the sun goes down? It would barely be visible otherwise.

P.S. There was no way we were going to be able to imbibe a green beer last night on the way home; every pub and bar we passed was crazily busy and full of green clad maidens and tall, drunkenly lewd leprechauns!
