I was on fellow blogger Glendon Mellow’s site The Flying Trilobite yesterday and I came across a link to a Blog for Darwin web site. After reading about this online event, which basically involves writing a Darwin-related blog article between the dates of February 12 to 15, I thought I’d add my name to the list of participants.
The Blog for Darwin event is an internet-based project (also known as a “blog carnival”, which is when multiple bloggers post about the same subject during the same time period, often in an effort to raise awareness of an issue or cause) and is just one of the many events taking place worldwide to celebrate the bicentenary of the birth of Charles Darwin (February 12th, 1809), the famous English naturalist, author of The Origin of Species and one of the greatest scientists in history.
Don’t know what I’ll write yet, but I’m sure something will evolve out of the slime as the time approaches.
